Meet Moose

Meet Moose, a sweet, goofy and lovable dog training to become Tyler’s hearing alert service dog. Moose was about 10 weeks old starting puppy classes at Ability Dogs and he’s now 15 months old and began his service dog training.

When Tyler and his family finally met Moose after weeks of receiving photos, he didn’t disappoint! Moose was calm, cute and had such a welcoming demeanor. Moose instantly felt like part of the family. Known for his gentle and playful nature, he’s just as happy playing with the kids as he is following along on family adventures.

Moose has shown impressive focus in training, with a natural ability to switch into "work mode" when needed. This has helped him learn skills faster than expected. He’s already alerting Tyler to sounds he might otherwise miss, providing greater peace of mind and reducing anxiety about missing important cues. Soon, Moose’s formal training will include alerting Tyler to doorbells, smoke alarms, sirens, his kids trying to get his attention—as well as a few retrieval tasks.

Watching Moose grow and master new skills has been inspiring. With each step, he becomes more of a lifeline for Tyler. Moose’s journey as a hearing alert dog is just beginning, and the impact he’s already having is profound. Stay tuned as we follow Moose’s progress and the incredible bond he’s building with Tyler.
