Meet Zuri

Meet Zuri, a mini bernedoodle who has a heart full of devotion and an eager spirit. Zuri's journey has been transformative, showcasing her incredible capabilities and the deep bond she has developed with her handler through training. As of April, Zuri has been officially certified as a service dog, marking a significant milestone in her journey.

In October of 2022, Zuri and her handler Cara, started advanced puppy classes and that’s where they met Pam, their dedicated trainer. Once Zuri completed the initial assessment they began her service dog training and proved to be a natural. One of her most impressive skills is her ability to lead her handler out of buildings during moments of high stress, a task she mastered very quickly. 

Zuri's transformation has been inspiring. Her intuitive nature allows her to sense her handler's emotions, and her adherence to a structured schedule keeps both of them grounded. According to Cara, Zuri goes to bed at 7 PM, and is an early riser at 5 AM and won’t ever miss her 1 PM nap time. 

Passing the certification test has opened many new doors not only for her handler but also Zuri’s training. They attend group classes once a month and plan to transition to one-on-one sessions after August to further refine her skills. The progress they've made together is a testament to Zuri's intelligence and dedication.

Zuri has become a lifeline, providing unwavering support and companionship to her handler. Her story highlights the incredible impact of well-trained service dogs, transforming lives with their loyalty, intuition, and comforting presence. As Zuri continues to excel, we look forward to sharing more about her journey and the profound connection that service dogs offer.
